Tetra Ireland 2017 A Year in review

TETRA Ireland welcome the Irish Fire Service to the NDRS Network. The Irish Fire Service will begin the nationwide rollout early 2018. This means that all Local Authorities will now have their Fire Service & Civil Defence operating on the emergency services network alongside the Garda & National Ambulance service. The network was designed to enable the fire and rescue services to work more effectively and safely by using clearer voice communications and call group management during incidents, and to send data and status codes to and from vehicles in the field.

We have moved! Tetra Ireland have moved offices. Our new location is 1 Heuston South Quarter, St. John’s Road, D8.

New customers! We would like to take this opportunity to welcome all of our new customers to the network. 2017 saw the expansion of the customer network with a number of airports join the network. DAA with Dublin & Cork Airport Police and Fire services are now fully live and utilising the NDRS. Kerry Airport & Connemara Airport were also among the regional airports to join the network this year. There was the very important addition of the voluntary ambulance service –The Irish Red Cross, St. John Ambulance & Order of Malta. Met Éireann were also another notable addition to the network going live this month with reliable nationwide comms for their remote sites and a 24/7 lone worker solution for their field staff.

As the customer base continues to expand the benefits of having a purpose built network are realised. The development of interagency communication is an ongoing process and with every New agency it opens up lines of communication for better operational efficiency.
